Russia’s Effect on Volatility

The Russia situation is in flux.

This morning’s Producer Price Index (PPI) reported wholesale prices up 1% last month – higher than forecasted.

Oil is moving all over the place as tensions drag.

And we can expect wild moves up and down over the next few days, giving us a green VIX light that’s fluttering on yellow.

Now, if tensions fall in Russia, we could see sub-20 fast.

Ulta’s Already Making a
Pre-Earnings Jump

  1. Ulta Beauty Inc. (Nasdaq:ULTA)

ULTA has already made a strong move higher today, up 3.7% as I type. The beauty stock has got earnings coming up on March 10 – and right now, as IV rises into the report, it’s prime for a pre-earnings trade.

Don’t trade through it – trade to it.

  1. Apple Inc. (Nasdaq:AAPL)

Now that it’s back above $170 a share, I think AAPL is prime to make a fast move to $180 – and calls on AAPL are the way to go for a fast profit off of that fast move.

  1. Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (NYSE:CLF)

CLF has finally found a floor around $18:

CLF Feb 2022

I think CLF could make a move back up to 20 fast.

How to Play UBER’s Consolidation

After a rough start to 2022, Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) has finally consolidated around $36…

Uber 2022

And, like clockwork, we’re seeing big money make its way back in.

Today, in fact, I came across an 8,500-contract trade worth over $860,000.

This big-money trader bought a bullish call spread on UBER, buying 8,500 of the March 18 $35 calls while selling 8,500 of the March 18 $37.50 calls against it.

UBER is still well off from its 52-week high of $61.50…

But that just means it’s got even more room to run.

Until next time,
